Miriam Loren
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Miriam Loren earned her B.A. from Barnard College and her Master’s in Early Childhood and Special Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She dedicated more than 20 years to the field of special education, developing a strong foundation in compassionate, individualized care, while raising her five sons.
After the passing of her husband, Ari Loren, in July, Miriam stepped into her current role leading Bronx Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York, a facility founded by her father-in-law in 1972. Building on her husband’s vision of treating each facility as a true family, she works closely with management and staff to provide attentive, personalized care to every resident.
In 2023, Ari expanded this mission with the acquisition of Elon Manor in Tampa, Florida. His belief in creating environments grounded in dignity, compassion, and a sense of family continues to guide the culture of both facilities. Today, Miriam carries that vision forward, remaining deeply committed to ensuring that every resident receives thoughtful, individualized care.

Steven is chief operating officer at Elon and administrator and chief operating officer at Bronx Park
Steven Freifeld was born in the Bronx, New York, and has dedicated nearly three decades to the long-term care profession. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Baruch College and a Master of Health Administration from Iona College. With a family background in long-term care, Steven developed a passion early on for serving older adults and improving the quality of care within skilled nursing communities.
Throughout his career, Steven has served as a consultant to more than 50 skilled nursing facilities and has held the role of Administrator of Record for four long-term care centers. His extensive operational expertise, strategic leadership, and commitment to excellence have made him a respected leader in the industry.
As Chief Operating Officer for both Bronx Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center and Elon Manor, Steven works closely with ownership and each facility's leadership team to foster a culture of compassion, accountability, and continuous improvement. He is committed to ensuring that every resident receives exceptional care in a warm, welcoming environment while supporting staff in delivering the highest standards of clinical and personal service.
Steven's vision is to help Elon Manor continue to grow as a trusted provider of skilled nursing and rehabilitation services, where residents and families feel supported, respected, and truly at home.

Adel Busante is our Director of Nursing/Assistant Administrator with over twenty-five years of experience working at Bronx Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Adel’s career began in 1994 as a Unit Charge Nurse. Adel’s passion to help others allowed her to advance in her career, quickly working her way up from Charge Nurse to Nursing Supervisor to Assistant Director of Nursing. In 2000, Adel moved further into her career to become the Director of Nursing, and in 2020, she added the role of Assistant Administrator. Adel is a powerful force in the workplace and uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed. Adel believes that resident care should be a nurse’s priority.

A graduate of Columbia University with a Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Social Work Practice, Jaclyn has a nursing background with many years of experience in the Social Work commerce, working with various populations throughout the years with an emphasis on the geriatric population. Jaclyn is highly knowledgeable, diligent, and compassionate in the work that she does.
She works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team on the micro and macro levels to ensure the needs of clients and their families are met. As a director, she strives to make a difference in the overall psychological well-being of each client from admission to discharge planning. With her collaborative work efforts and evidence-based practice approach, she focuses on understanding clients' comorbidities as well as the cognitive, behavioral, and emotional challenges clients face daily. Jaclyn fosters an environment promoting and enhancing the quality of life and the highest practical level of mental, physical, and psychosocial well-being of each client. She maintains an open-door policy and remains readily available to assist clients and their families throughout their stay.

With many years of experience in the nursing home industry, working previously in various sectors from nursing secretary, administrative assistant, and clinical/staffing coordinator to assisting with HR and Admissions, Rose has gained her experience as a Social Worker at Bronx Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She has a passion for aiding individuals with their needs. She is full of compassion and dedicated to creating a safe, positive, and caring environment while showing outstanding commitment to the residents and families. Rose is a team player who focuses on building a solid team that residents and families can rely on. She connects with other departments to help coordinate care and provide needed resources and ultimately smoothing their successful stay, whether in their Long-Term Care at the facility or when they return to the community to maintain a better quality of life.

Michelle Ortega is the Activity Director at Bronx Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She has 10 -11 years of experience working in nursing facilities and providing care for the elderly. She strives to implement activity programs designed to ensure the well-being of the residents. Her duties are identifying the needs and developing activity programs according to the past and present interests of all residents. Michelle strives to provide recreational programs that all residents can attend and participate to the best of their abilities.

She has been an MDS Coordinator for over 15 years and a PRI Assessor in Skilled Nursing Facilities in the Bronx and Yonkers, NY. Romana’s goal is to understand the needs of our residents through assessment and facilitate their care. Romana perceives this opportunity to improve the lives of our residents as a great privilege.

Cheryl calls Bronx Park a miracle worker because her brother came to live at Bronx Park, and he arrived in a wheelchair, not able to walk. And physical therapy worked so well on her brother. He worked in outpatient physical therapy clinics in New York. Rey feels fortunate and blessed to help facilitate patients’ return to their normal lifestyle through his profession.

I am currently a patient at this facility, and my experience here has been wonderful. The Director of Social Work, Jackie, has been so helpful throughout my stay and continues to be. Rose, the social worker, is also very helpful. Rehab has really helped me with my goals. My therapists, Cirio and Jessica, along with all the rehab staff, have been wonderful in helping me achieve my goal of walking again. Nurses Linda, Maryann, and Gail have been patient and very helpful. All the nursing staff is excellent. CNAs Schondell, Jacobs, Gail, Sonia L., and Simpson have been great. This facility provides the greatest care! The custodial workers are also very nice, and I appreciate Andrea. The facility is clean and well-kept, and all my needs are met in a timely manner. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great rehabilitation center—one of the best. My mother-in-law was also a patient here about a year ago. Dr. Cetin is an amazing doctor. Steven Freifeld was born in the Bronx in 1966. He lived there for over 20 years and attended New York City public schools. He graduated from Baruch College with a BBA in Marketing and graduated from Iona College with a Masters in Health Administration. As his family was already in the long-term care field, it was a natural fit for him to follow. Steven has worked in many facilities for almost 30 years in the nursing home field. He was a consultant for over 50 facilities and the Administrator-of-Record in 4 long-term care facilities. He has been in the Bronx Park family for 13 years and, along with a great team of family owners and department heads, strives to make this facility the best in New York State.
